Olives Trees are usually free of pests and diseases even in our cooler climate. There are a couple of pests and diseases that can occur. One problem that can occur is peacock spot.
Although not fatal to the tree, Peacock Spot will result in an increase in leaf drop and reduced vitality. The disease is carried in rain and is easily recognisable by small dark spots with a pale ring around them on the leaves. The good news is the disease is easily treated indeed avoided by spraying your tree with a Copper mixture. Vitax produce one that you can buy online. Getting rid of the fallen diseased leaves is considered to be good practice. Spray November and February when the leaf bud is dormant.

Woolly aphid is an airborne pest that looks like cotton wool on trees, it causes leaf drop and should be treated, the problem can easily be remedied with a combination of washing up liquid mixed with water and sprayed over the affected area. They are often found in hot weather.
