How to buy your perfect olive tree
If you’re wondering how to buy your perfect olive tree then fear not! Here at The Norfolk Olive Tree we supply to customers across mainland UK although we are based in Norfolk. Our customers are far and wide, with glowing reviews of our service and the high quality of our stock. We want to ensure all customers felt confident buying both in person and online. So, we’ve put together some tips to help you when choosing your perfect olive tree!
First up – choosing the right tree
We boast a wide selection of stock; young, old, cloud pruned, pom-pom, gnarly or twisted – there’s one for everyone. We are experts in our field with passion for hand selecting only the best olive trees. If you’re struggling to choose then please call or email us and we would be happy to help. We can also offer a video or send additional photos to help make that decision that little bit easier. Paul is a qualified Arborist as is our son Luca, so they are well informed and love sharing their expertise.

Picking the right trunk
It’s important to look at the trunk of the olive tree not just the leaves. This is because of the short growing season in the UK – meaning trunks generally mature slowly. If you buy a young olive tree in the hope it will become gnarly over time, you might be disappointed. So, if you are looking for a characterful gnarly trunk you will need to have one from the outset. In addition to the trunk, it’s worth considering the green leaves (or the crown for those in the know). Unlike the trunk, what you see isn’t always what you get. Olive trees are pruned to encourage new growth, so if you find the perfect trunk don’t worry about the shape as it will grow!
