Impruneta terracotta has a distinctive burnt orange colouring. Our suppliers produce the pots using methods developed in Renaissance Italy. The same techniques remain in use today amongst the seven potters left in Impruneta who are licensed to produce Impruneta terracotta. The village of Impruneta has been producing terracotta for hundreds of years and still has kilns or ‘fornace’ dating back to 1098.

Caring for your terracotta pot.
1. Drain water from the products in winter or when temperature falls under 3 degrees centigrade and ensure that rain does not collect in
previously-emptied pots.
2. In terracotta pots containing soil, ensure that drain holes are always clear and unobstructed by roots, ground or anything else.
