Silk Trees from Tuscany – Grace and Light in Every Branch
This season, we’re delighted to introduce the Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin) — a deciduous tree that captures the very essence of Tuscan beauty. Grown under the Italian sun and carefully selected for its poise and health, each specimen is a living expression of elegance and resilience. 18 litre pots.

Please note: The Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin) is deciduous, not evergreen. During winter, it naturally loses most of its leaves before bursting back into beautiful, feathery foliage in spring. See picture (8)
With its delicate, fern-like leaves and silky pink summer flowers, the Silk Tree is a master of light and movement. As dusk falls, its leaves gently close, reopening each morning with the first touch of sun — a quiet rhythm that brings a sense of peace to patios, courtyards, and sunny borders alike.
In midsummer, the tree bursts into bloom, producing fragrant, feathery flowers that shimmer in the sunlight and attract bees and butterflies. The soft pink canopy creates a beautiful dappled shade, lending an ethereal touch to any garden design.
Hardy and resilient
Though wonderfully exotic in appearance, these Tuscan-grown Albizia julibrissin are remarkably hardy once established, tolerating temperatures down to around –10°C. They thrive best in well-drained soil and a sunny, sheltered position, where their umbrella-like canopy can spread gracefully.
An elegant statement
The Silk Tree’s light, architectural form makes it perfect for adding structure without heaviness — a centrepiece tree that complements both modern and traditional landscapes. Whether planted in the ground or grown in a large container, it brings texture, fragrance, and Mediterranean warmth year after year.
Silk Tree Care tip
Minimal pruning is required. Simply remove any dead or crossing branches in early spring to maintain shape. In colder areas, protect young trees during their first winter.
